Day 1: Delays, Markets, & Sunset Cocktails
Our girls’ trip to Phuket began with a small setback — a delayed flight. Despite arriving later than planned, we were determined to make the most of our first night. We checked into our hotel and immediately headed out to explore the lively street markets nearby.
The market was bustling with colors, scents, and energy. We sampled delicious Thai street food, picked up local beauty products, and browsed through unique souvenirs. Afterward, we found a cozy bar where we toasted to the start of our adventure with cocktails made from Thai herbs and tropical fruits. Even with the delayed start, we knew Phuket would deliver unforgettable experiences.
Day 2: Photoshoot, Temples, & Seafood Feast
We woke up early on day two to ensure we had the best spot for a photoshoot on Phuket’s famous giant lily pads. With refreshing drinks in hand and a drone capturing aerial shots, the photoshoot turned out to be pure magic and a perfect start to the day.
Next, we set off to explore Phuket’s rich cultural side by visiting two iconic Buddhist temples. First, we stopped at Wat Sri Sunthon, the big eared Buddha shown below. Here, we learned about its historical significance and admired the intricate architecture. Then, we visited Wat Phra Thong, home to the legendary half-buried golden Buddha statue. Immersing ourselves in the history of Thai Buddhism gave our trip a meaningful layer.
The day wrapped up with a seafood feast at a beachside restaurant, where we enjoyed fresh prawns, fish grilled with Thai herbs, and the beautiful sunset. Day two was packed with amazing sights and experiences we couldn’t wait to relive in our memories.
Day 3: Elephants, Massages, & Tree Bay Dinner
On day three, half of our group came down with a stomach bug. But for those of us feeling well, the day held some unexpected treats. We started with a visit to an ethical elephant sanctuary, where we opted to simply feed and interact with the gentle giants. Watching them up close and seeing their personalities was a heartwarming experience.
After the sanctuary, we discovered an incredible deal on massages — just $9! We treated ourselves to the relaxing Thai massages, which helped us unwind and left us feeling refreshed for the evening ahead.
Later, our group reunited for dinner at a unique tree bay restaurant overlooking a secluded beach. With candle-lit tables and the sound of waves in the background, it was a magical setting for our meal. Afterward, we dove into Phuket’s nightlife with a stop at a ping-pong show, an experience that gave us endless stories and laughs.
Day 4: Beach Club & Farewell Dinner
For our last day, we treated ourselves to a luxurious experience at Yono Beach Club. We spent the day lounging in cabanas, enjoying the music, and sipping on refreshing cocktails. It was the perfect balance of relaxation and celebration as we soaked up the sun and beach vibes.
Our farewell dinner at Cape Sienna capped off the trip beautifully. Perched high on a cliff with panoramic views of the ocean, the restaurant offered a sophisticated atmosphere and delicious food. As we watched the sun set over the water, we shared our favorite memories from the trip, already talking about our next adventure.
Tips & Tricks for an Amazing Phuket Trip
1. Visit During Dry Season: The best time to visit Phuket is from November to April to avoid heavy rains.
2. Be Ready to Haggle: Street markets are great for souvenirs, and vendors expect bargaining!
3. Avoid Certain Holidays: Thai holidays, like Makha Bucha Day, may be alcohol-free, which could impact nightlife plans.
4. Have Cash on Hand: Some places only accept cash, so keep some Thai Baht handy for smoother transactions.
5. Stay Sun-Safe: Bring sunscreen and drink plenty of water to stay cool in Phuket’s tropical climate.
